Pauline M. Weishaar's Obituary
Pauline Weishaar, age, 75, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Corydon Nursing and Rehab Center.
Pauline was born March 20, 1932, the daughter of Peter and Santina (Metra) LaPaglia in Centerville, Iowa. Following her education, Pauline worked as a waitress at several different restaurants. She later worked for and retired from Viskase Manufacturing. After retirement, Pauline went to work at St. Joseph's Hospital in Centerville as a dieticinary aide, and later for Corydon Nursing and Rehab Center in housekeeping. She loved playing bingo, cards, and her trips to Tama. Pauline enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville and also of the Union Carbide Retiree's Club.
Survivors include three children, Gary (Brita) LaVon of Los Angeles, CA, John Weishaar of Centerville, and Andrea (Kevin) Tilley of Corydon, IA; 6 grandchildren: Malisha (Joshua) Hagan, Courtney Hawk, Lauren and Raegan Tilley, Travis and Kennedy Weishaar. Also surviving are two sisters, Jenny Collins of Centerville and Josephine Carducci of Las Vegas, NV; one brother, Joe LaPaglia of San Bernadino, CA; and two sister-in-laws, Doris LaPaglia of Centerville and Virginia Chiovaro of Detroit, MI; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mary Hough, Margie Pantaleo and Mary Manna; and four brothers, Johnny Chiovario, Carl LaPaglia, P.J. LaPaglia, and Paul LaPaglia.
Mass of Resurrection will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Centerville, Iowa with Fr. Tim Guthridge officiating. Visitation will be held all day Friday at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with family present from 6-8 PM and a prayer service at 6:30 PM.
A memorial has been established to the St. Mary's Catholic Church and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
