Pauline M. Sleeth's Obituary
Paulyne M. Sleeth, age 87, of Norwalk, Iowa and a former Exline, Iowa resident, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Regency Care Center in Norwalk. She was born the daughter of William and Mahala (Moon) Stogdill on August 6, 1921 in Washington, Iowa. She graduated from the Moulton Community Schools in 1939.On November 27, 1940, Paulyne was united in marriage to John S. Lanscak, Jr. in Lancaster, Missouri. Later, she would marry to William Arnel Sleeth on October 21, 1984 in Norwalk, Iowa. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Christian Church in Exline, Iowa and also attended the Christian Church in Norwalk, Iowa where she taught Sunday school for several years. Paulyne loved living on the farm near Exline, Iowa, where she could do all sorts of outdoor activities such as; gardening and fishing. She also enjoyed making dolls, quilts, knitting as well as playing the piano and organ.She was preceded in death by: her parents; 1st husband, John Lanscak, Jr. on January 5, 1981; 2nd husband, Arnel Sleeth on July 7, 1995; daughter, Margaret Berry on December 13, 2007; brothers, Ralph and Roy Stogdill; and a sister, Marie Benac; son-in-law, Robert HaltermanPaulyne is survived by: her daughters, Teresa Halterman of Norwalk, Iowa and Peggy and her husband, Karl White of Pella, Iowa; son, John Lanscak, III and Pat Fisk of Des Moines, Iowa; son-in-law, Cecil Berry of Norwalk, Iowa; sister, Maude Flowers of Centerville, Iowa; Nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild; and several nieces and nephewsFuneral services will be held on Friday, October 31, 2008 at 1 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa. Burial will follow at the Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2008 from 1 pm till 5 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville. The family will be present from 12 pm till the time of services on Friday before the funeral at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Christian Church in Norwalk , Iowa and can be left at the funeral home.
