Pauline E. Scurlock's Obituary
Edna Pauline Scurlock, age 96, of Centerville, Iowa passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Centerville Nursing and Rehab Center.
Pauline was born March 26, 1913, the daughter of Ora Elmer and Mahala Elizabeth (Carter) Waite in New Sharon, Iowa. She married Harold Samuel Scurlock on December 22, 1932 in Unionville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1982. Pauline enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading and spending time with her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Pauline is survived by her children, Eugene Scurlock of Osage Beach, Missouri, Nancy Mikles of Indianola, Iowa, Janice Davis of Centerville, Iowa, David (Dixie) Scurlock of Newtown, Pennsylvania, Joyce and Roger Shelby of Ottumwa, Iowa, Judy Earhart of Centerville, Iowa, Jerry Scurlock of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Ruth (George) Peel of Centerville, Iowa, Linda (Frank) Grenko of Davenport, Iowa, and Tim and Mary Scurlock of Centerville, Iowa; thirty six grandchildren; ninety four great grandchildren; forty four great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Gladys DePuy of Cortez, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Everett Waite, Pearl Waite, Glen Waite, Lawrence Waite, Cleta Agnesson, Mildred Davenport, and Wilma Webb; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Graveside services will be held 10:30 AM, Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Ken Martin officiating. Burial will follow. A visitation will be held Monday at the Lange Funeral Home with family present from 6-8 PM.
