Pauline Jellison's Obituary
Pauline Jellison was born at home on October 20, 1939, to Elmer and Levica Mastin of Corydon, Iowa.Pauline grew up in Corydon, Iowa and graduated from Corydon High School. It was here that she married the love of her life, Garold Jellison and spent the next 52 years together. Shortly after their marriage, Pauline and Garold attended a tent revival and gave their lives to Jesus. They attended the Christian Church in Allerton and the Baptist Church in Allerton as well.
To this blessed union were born four sons, Dennis, James, Kenneth and Timothy. The couple spent most of their married life in Wayne County, Iowa, with a short time in Newton, Iowa as well as time on the family farm in the edge of Missouri.
Pauline was a stay-at-home mom through the early years of her son's lives, often having her signature chocolate chip cookies and milk ready and waiting when they came home from school as a treat. During these years, Pauline babysat several children.
Later Pauline worked at Voltmaster's in Corydon, a job she very much enjoyed and she enjoyed the people she worked with. Later she became known as the "donut lady" at Casey's. Pauline was a very loved worker for many years at HyVee. She was a checker that a lot of folks relied on being there when they came in. She took great delight in seeing her "regular" customers and meeting new ones and was always kidding with them.
After retiring, Pauline enjoyed crafting, making quilts, painting gourds, and making and selling fudge, including her very wonderful Peanut Butter Fudge. She never hesitated to explain that this was Grandma (Mildred) Jellison's recipe.
Pauline lovingly cared for her husband until his passing from cancer in 2009. In her last years, she enjoyed the company of her family tremendously to help her through these times as well as the company of her two dogs, Mollie and Abby.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Garold Lloyd Jellison, her mother Levica (Vicie) Grace Mastin, her father, Elmer Ray Mastin, and one sister, Sandra Genene (Mastin) Porter plus multiple other family members.
Left to mourn her passing are four sons, Dennis Jellison, Jim Jellison, Kennie (Theresa) Jellison and Tim (Lorie) Jellison along with two sisters, Pat (Allen) Sandrock and Valorie (Mastin) Craig as well as 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends. Pauline now rests in the loving presence of her Savior, happy and pain free, reunited with loved ones.
