Pauline Hollingsworth's Obituary
Pauline Hollingsworth, age 89 of Centerville, Iowa passed away Sunday, December 28, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.
Pauline was born May 10, 1919, the daughter of Robert and Loudella (Hogan) Smith in Centerville, Iowa. She married Albert (Cookie) Hollingsworth on July 14, 1946 in Centerville, Iowa. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1980. Pauline was a house keeper for Dr. Bruce Davis and worked at Frankels Department Store. Pauline was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Centerville, Iowa.
Pauline is survived by three children, Sybil (Andrew) Williams of Decatur, Georgia, Stephen (Marianne) Hollingsworth of St. Louis, Missouri, and Mary Beth (Joe) Barnes of Centerville, Iowa; two grandkids, Joseph Hollingsworth and Katie Hollingsworth both of St. Louis, Missouri; a sister, Kathyrn Gholeston of Gary, Indiana; two nieces, Connie Dixon and Beverly Gilchrist; one nephew, Ronald James; and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Mary Oliver, Faye Henderson, Oscar Smith, Bernice Stanton, Opal Lewis Jennie Monroe, and an infant, Londella.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at the Lange Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph Barnes and Rev. Alan Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville, Iowa. Friends may call all day Tuesday with family present from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society, Drake Library or the Second Baptist Church and may be left at or mailed to the Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
