Paul Junior Wakefield's Obituary
Paul Junior Wakefield, age 87, of Centerville, Iowa, passed away Sunday, April 05, 2020 at the VA Hospital in Des Moines.
He was born on August 15, 1932 in Brazil, Iowa, the son of Paul Ladel Wakefield and Frances "Fanny" (Starchevich) Wakefield. On August 31, 1952, Paul was united in marriage to Betty Marie Meade, and to this union, they had two children.
Paul was an Army Veteran who served his country faithfully during the Korean War. For many years until he retired, he owned and operated Wakefield Radiator Repair in Centerville. Paul loved auctions, never missing a good one and making many friends at them. Paul also loved to travel, going across country several times.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Betty and daughter in law, Gloria.
He is survived by his two children, a son, Paul David Wakefield of West Branch, Iowa, and a daughter, Susana Santana of Anna Maria, Florida, two grandsons, Edward Robert Wakefield of West Branch, Iowa and Carlos Santana of Gainesville, Florida.
Due to covid-19 restrictions there will be no scheduled services. Cremation has been accorded. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the family and can be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, C/O Wakefield family 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville Iowa 52544.
