Paul Thomas' Obituary
Paul Thomas, age 79, of Centerville died Sunday November 28, 2004 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
He was united in marriage to Ramona, Clark June 5, 1949 at Centerville. To this union three sons were born. Charles Thomas and his wife Fran of Dallas, TX, David Thomas and his wife Shelley of Loveland, CO, Richard Thomas and his wife Terri of Fairmount, IL, grandchildren Nikki and Chris Thomas of Dallas, TX, , Joel and Lauren Thomas of Loveland CO, Jennifer and Megan Thomas of Fairmount, IL. Also surviving are his mother Alice Thomas of Centerville, two sisters Margaret Ann Anderson and her husband Jay of Ajo, AZ, and Jeanie Pratte and her husband Joe of Centerville, many nieces and nephews. His mother in law Thelma Clark, 2 uncles Jim Irelan and his wife Ann of Centerville, Clifford E. Thomas and his wife Donna of Centerville.
He was preceded in death by his father Custer A. Thomas, father-in-law Bill Clark, sister -in-law Dixie Sharp and brother-in-law Buck Clark
Paul graduated from Cincinnati High School in 1943 and entered the US Airforce. After his service time, he was employed by Pillsbury Mills, He managed several grain elevators throughout Illinois, retiring in 1988 from Dalton City, IL, He enjoyed spending winters in Phoenix and traveling during the summer. He belonged to the Cincinnati Masonic Prosperity Lodge # 504 serving as Worshipful Master. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, December 2, 2004 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Pastor Diane Christopher officiating. Friends may call all day Wednesday with the family present from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic Service at 7:30 PM Wednesday evening at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Cincinnati, IA. A memorial has been established to the 18-80 Club or the First Methodist Church, Centerville and may be left or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, PO Box 6, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
