Paul M. Hamm, Sr., 88, formerly of Strausstown, Pennsylvania died at the home of his daughter, Joan L. Bailey, of Promise City, Iowa on June 13, 2012. Paul was the husband of Anna F. (Woerner) Hamm, also of Promise City. He was born in Albany Township, Pennsylvania and was the son of the late Clarence R. and Elsie M. (Merkel) Hamm. Paul was a 1942 graduate of Slatington High School. He worked for Anthony's Feed Mill in Strausstown for 30 years. He then worked as a custodian for Ridgewood Associates in Wyomissing for 16 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of Zion Blue Mountain U. C. C., Strausstown. Paul was a former member of Union Fire Company #1, Hamburg, Shartlesville Fire Company and Strausstown Fire Company. He is survived by his wife Anna F. Hamm of Promise City, Iowa, three sons: Dennis R., husband of Elaine Hamm of Shartlesville, Pennsylvania, Paul M.. Jr., husband of June Hamm of Shoemakersville, Pennsylvania, and Roger A., husband of Linda Hamm of Shartlesville, Pennsylvania, and daughter Joan L, wife of Clarence Bailey of Promise City. In addition two brothers John C. Hamm of Beaumont, Texas and James D. Hamm of Kempton, Pennsylvania, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren survive him. One sister and one brother predeceased him. Memorials may be given in Paul's memory to the Zion Blue Mountain U. C. C.
