Paul 'Pie' Sheston, 88 of Centerville passed away Monday, November 3, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. Paul was born to Toma & Mary (Sosa) Sheston on August 9, 1920 in Centerville. He received his education from Centerville High School graduating in 1939. He attended Upper Iowa University and played football for one year. He was a veteran of the United States Marines Corps, serving during World War II. Paul married Ann Omastiak on May 3, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Chicago, the United Railway Workers, St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Centerville High School Athletic Hall of Fame inductee in 1985. Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching football, wrestling and baseball. Paul is survived by his wife Ann Sheston of Centerville; five children, Patty Colton(Matthew) of Des Moines, Tom Sheston(Sharon) of Centerville, Mark Sheston(Denise) of Centerville, Mary Ellen Murphy(Mike) of Midland, Michigan, Corinne Duffy(Paul) of Chicago; 16 grandchildren, Marc Colton, Benjamin Colton, Calvin Colton, John Sheston(Renee), Kara Griffith(Dan), Paul John Sheston, Kathleen Sheston, Kristin Sheston, Amy Sheston, Michael Sheston; Patrick Murphy, Anne Murphy, Daniel Murphy, Ian Murphy; Marina Duffy, Maggie Duffy; six great grandchildren, Owen Byl, Vincent Sheston, Holly Sheston, Hannah Sheston, Madison Sheston, Caden Griffith and one brother Bill Sheston(Helen) of Dubuque. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, George, Tony and John Sheston and two sisters, Helen Matyas and Mary Burke. Mass of the Resurrection will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 7, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Dennis Schaab C.PP.S officiating. Visitation will be all day Thursday with the family present from 6-8 p.m.. A rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
