Paul Steiner, 95 of Centerville passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Centerville Nursing & Rehab. Paul was born in Albion, Nebraska on October 9, 1916 to Hans & Willamina (Peterson) Steiner. He received his education from Albion Schools graduating in 1934. Paul served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Marjorie Evelyn Bowles on December 6, 1941. Paul was a self employed Jeweler/watchmaker in Sutton, Nebraska for 7 years and then in Chariton, Iowa for 30 years. While living in Chariton, he was a volunteer fireman, served on the Chamber of Commerce, sang with the Aeolian Singers and a Mason. He was also active in the Methodist Church, serving as the treasurer and singing in the choir. Paul enjoyed golf, yard work, time with his family, friends and his grandchildren. Paul is survived by a daughter Paulette Sells(Warren) of Centerville, two grandsons, Alan Sells(Amanda) of Centerville, Todd Sells(Michelle Belmare and Austin) of Centerville, five great grandchildren; Elizabeth, Abigail, Reece, Thad and Nate Sells of Centerville, sister Mable Ragan of Albion, Nebraska and a nephew Russell(Lucille) Nore of Albion, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Steiner, three brothers; Harlan, Ross and LeRoy Steiner, four sisters; Ella Nore, Vera Earhart, Alice Peltz, Betty Nygren and his parents. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 22, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Centerville. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday. Inurnment will be Albion Cemetery in Albion, Nebraska at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church which may be left at or mailed to Thomas Funeral Home - PO Box 125 - Centerville, Iowa 52544.
