Paul Hackney's Obituary
Paul C. Hackney of Allerton passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017 at the age of 48. Paul was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on March 22, 1969 to LaVern and Judy (Fry) Hackney. He attended Wayne Community High School and graduated with the class of 1987. Paul was united in marriage to Stephanie (Jones) Schoolcraft on March 12, 1988 and to this union four children were born; Cody, Tiffany, Tamara and Cierra. Paul later married Carla (Smith) Hackney on May 22, 2009 and welcomed Carla's children, Jessica and Rion into his family. During high school Paul and his brother Gabe joined the Iowa National Guard. Paul was a Veteran of Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom War and was deployed with the 3654th Maintenance Company of Chariton, Iowa. Paul proudly served his Country for 20 years. Paul worked for Shivvers MFG in Corydon for 28 years. When he was not working, Paul enjoyed most of all spending time with his family. He also enjoyed coyote hunting, fishing, boating, messing around with his guns and driving around. Paul had a very special place in his heart for his children and grandchildren. He loved the time he spent with them and the memories they shared. Paul was such a loving husband, father, papa, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend. Paul is survived by his wife Carla of Allerton, children; Cody (Ashley) Hackney of Allerton, Tiffany Hackney of Allerton, Tamara (Bo) Hamilton of Indianola, Cierra Hackney of Corydon, Jessica Snow of Allerton, Rion Lunsford of Allerton, grandchildren; Harlea, Gabriella, Ryker, Ruger, Hadley, Blaise, Willow, Jaedyn, Darren and Chloe, mother Judy Hackney of Allerton, brother Chris Hackney of Seymour, sister Heather Hackney (Clay Austin) of Allerton, nieces and nephews; Brady, Shania, Demi, Travis and Layna, in-laws Dale and Fuchsia Smith and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends, all of which will miss his dearly. Paul was preceded in death by his father LaVern, infant brother Kenneth and twin brother Gabe. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the new Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon, 303 East Jefferson Street. Interment will immediately follow at Shriver Cemetery.
