Patty Seddon's Obituary
Patty Seddon, age 58 of Centerville died of cancer, Monday July 25, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa.
She was born February 10, 1947 in Centerville and was the daughter of Louis and Ola (Tometich) Budeslich. She graduated from Centerville High School in 1965 and married James Seddon on August 13, 1968.
Patty attended Mercy School of Nursing for two years and graduated from the University of Alaska in Anchorage in 1972 with a degree in nursing. Upon returning to Centerville in 1977, she began a job as a county health nurse at the Appanoose County Health Office, where she worked for the next 28 years.
Patty's kindness was felt throughout the community and she touched the lives of hundreds of people. She had a gift for nurturing everything from her patients to the plants in her garden. She was always willing to give her time and spirit to generously help those around her. Patty was adored by her family and the way she lived her life will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.
Patty was so many things to so many people- a wife, a mother, a ""grammy,"" a sister, a nurse, a daughter, an aunt and a friend, among many others. She was thoughtful, funny, and in the remaining months of her life, extremely courageous. The loving memories of her will be kept inside the hearts of those who were honored to know her.
She is survived by her husband Jim, of Centerville; a daughter, Shelley Seddon Giles and her husband Rhett, of West Hollywood, California; a daughter, Heather Belloma and her husband Tony of Centerville; four grandchildren; Peyton and Payne Kauffman, and Benjamin and Colton Belloma all of Centerville; her sister Cathy Huisman of Madrid, Iowa; her parents Louis and Ola Budeslich of Centerville and 15 nieces and nephews.
Patty was an avid lover of books and a memorial fund has been established for the Drake Public Library and for St. Mary's School, where her beloved grandchildren attend. Donations may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, P.O. Box 6, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
