Patricia J. Sconzo's Obituary
Patricia Sconzo, age 69 of Centerville died Wednesday evening, August 20, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa.
Pat was born September 24, 1938, the daughter of Glen and Elaine (Shaffer) Stoner in Seymour, Iowa. Pat graduated from Centerville High School with the Class of 1956. After graduation she worked at Beatria Foods in Centerville, Iowa. She married Frank Sconzo in 1958. To this union they had two children. They later divorced. She later worked as a secretary at Mustang Implement and Appanoose County Extension Office. Pat was a Welcome Wagon hostess for new families who moved to Centerville. After her kidney transplant in 1974, she became interested in ceramics. Attending many craft shows and selling personalized ceramics out of her home. She was a member of the Drake Avenue Christian Church in Centerville, Iowa New Masters Sorority over fifty years and active in Bridge Club for many years.
Pat is survived by a special friend, DeWayne May of Centerville, Iowa; children, Mike (Sarah) Sconzo of Centerville, Iowa, and Mindy (Ronnie) Sconzo-Lynch of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren, Ashley Sconzo, Shonmikel Sconzo and Zoie Sconzo; a brother, Randy (Julie)Clausen of Colorado; and niece and nephew, Tanner and Whitney. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elaine Clausen; father, Glen Stoner; and step-father, Virgil (Brick) Clausen.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Monday, August 25, 2008 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home in Centerville with Rev. Nancy Prall officiating. Burial will follow at the South Lawn Cemetery in Seymour, Iowa. A visitation was held on Sunday starting at noon with family present at the funeral home from 6-8 PM.
