Patricia Ann Gatrel's Obituary
Patricia Ann Gatrel, 80 of Centerville passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 at Mercy One Hospital in Des Moines.
Pat was born to George & Isabelle (Aitken) Rodgers on September 6, 1940 in Centerville. She received her education from Centerville Schools, graduating in 1958. On March 27, 1966, Pat was united in marriage to Bob Gatrel in Centerville. To this union came two children: Craig and Mark.
Pat worked as a bookkeeper for Iowa Southern Utilities for many years. After her time at ISU, she was employed at Wells Manufacturing in Centerville. Pat enjoyed time spent with her friends and family, reading, watching Jeopardy and supporting the Chicago Cubs. She also enjoyed playing penny slots with Bob and her friends.
Survivors include her sons: Craig Gatrel (John), Mark Gatrel (Kris), granddaughter Ashley Maas, grandson Brennan Gatrel, and numerous extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jewell Bryant.
With Pat's wishes, a private family service will take place in Haines Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to Bob. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Iowa and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com or facebook.com/thomasfuneralhome.
