Pastor Authur Paul Mann, Sr.'s Obituary
Pastor Arthur Paul Mann, Sr., age 77, of Centerville, Iowa, died Monday, June 21, 2004, at his home in Centerville, Iowa. Art was born the son of John and Eva (Coon) Mann on June 14, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Detroit Denby High School in Detroit Michigan.On July 17, 1948, Art married Patsy Petee in Onstead, Michigan. She preceded him in death on January 3, 1997. Then on June 13, 1997, Art married Betty Peters in Centerville, Iowa. After serving in the Army during World War II, Art became an engineer for Clinton Engines and helped to design the machines that make gallon jugs. Later, he underwent the teaching of Harold McNeil to become a missionary pastor and served congregations in Woodruff, Wisconsin, Spring Lake, Florida, and Monticello, Iowa, later travelling as a Missionary to Guyanna on several occasions, finally settling in Centerville, Iowa to help with the Sunday School program at the Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church.Art was preceded in death by: his parents; his first wife, Patsy; two sons, Kenneth & Doug Mann; and daughter-in-law, Susan Mann.He is survived by: his wife, Betty Mann of Centerville, Iowa; four children, John and his wife, Brenda, of Lecanto, Florida, Arthur, Jr. of Homasasa, Florida, Loretta Stufflebeem and her husband, Larry, of Centerville,Iowa and Gwendlyn Rumphel and her husband, Steve, of Mendelein, Illinois; one sister, Irene Stoner of Clinton, Michigan; one brother, Tom Mann of Onstead, Michigan; as well as eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 25, 2004 at 10:00 AM at the Grace Tabernacle Church in Centerville, Iowa with Revs. John Adams, Dan French and Robert Pick officiating. Burial will follow in Florida on Sunday, June 27, 2004 at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery after a Graveside Service on Sunday at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2004 from 2:00 PM til 8:00 PM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa.
