Oscar E. Mcghghy's Obituary
Oscar McGhghy, age 79, died Wednesday evening, August 9, 2005 at the Ottumwa Regional Hospital, Ottumwa, Iowa. Oscar Ernest McGhghy was born April 15, 1926 in Appanoose county to George and Anna (Garr). He married Erma Ross on December 31, 1945 in Ottumwa. He was a veteran of World War II. He worked as a Pentecostal minister for several years on Vendella road outside of Des Moines, then they moved to Ottumwa and he went to work at Black's Tire Company where he retired from in 1988. He is survived by his wife Erma and four sons; Daniel McGhghy and wife Mikki of Ottumwa; Michael McGhghy and Tammie of Ottumwa; David McGhghy of Newton; Timothy McGhghy and wife Misslea of Des Moines; and two daughters; Diana (Gerald) Lemke of Ottumwa; Jo Ann (Patrick) Blomgren McCormick of Oskaloosa; two sister; Ruby Shadduck and Panzi Higgenbottam of Maringo, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 29 foster children. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday morning, August 13, 2005 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, Centerville with Pastor William McGhghy officiating. Visitation will be held 6-7 PM Friday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Cincinnati, Iowa. A memorial has been established and may be left or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, PO Box 6, Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
