Opal Caroline Moore's Obituary
Opal "Caroline" Moore, age 91, of Centerville, died Friday, December 19, 2014, at the Mercy Medical Long Term Care Facility in Centerville, Iowa. She was born the daughter of George and Mae (Ogden) Morlan on January 19, 1923, in Udell, Iowa. Caroline attended Udell Community Schools. On August 28, 1939, Caroline was united in marriage to Joe Moore in Udell, Iowa. The couple lived on a farm near Udell and she so enjoyed raising a garden, growing flowers, baking and canning for her family. Later in life, Caroline was a flower designer for The Flower Center, Centerville. She was a member of the Grace Brethren Church in Udell for many years. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Joe Moore in June 1988; daughter, Karen Stotler; son, Sam Moore; sisters, Aletha Swimm, Lucille Duty, Erma Kilpatrick and Reva Burgess; brothers, Lorance, Cecil, Max, Bob and Roger Morlan; and a grandson, Jeff Moore. Caroline is survived by: her daughters, Linda Klick of Auxvasse, Missouri and Sue Greer of Centerville, Iowa; a son, Tim Moore of Unionville, Iowa; a sister, Jean Spring of Centerville, Iowa; 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 7 great, great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, December 22, 2014 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Kay Singley officating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery near Udell, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home from 2 pm until 5 pm and the family will be present on Monday, from 10:30 am until the time of services at the funeral home.
