Olive Wells' Obituary
Olive Wells, age 94, of Centerville, Iowa, died Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of William Everett and Verna Mae (Hart) Wells on August 26, 1914 in Exline, Iowa. She first attended Beard Country School and would alter attend Centerville Community Schools.On August 31, 1931, Olive was united in marriage to Harold A. Wells in Unionville, Missouri. She was a homemaker. In her younger years, she liked to go camping, enjoyed family gatherings, cooking for them as well as gardening. Throughout her lifetime, Olive was fair and always looked for a peaceful resolution. She was someone who always took the time to make her family feel important and her greatest joy came from spending time with her loved ones. She attended the Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church and Dale Church both in Centerville.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Harold A. Wells on August 22, 1995; grandson, Doug Wells February 22, 1994; son, Roger Wells on October 9, 2005; brother, Clifford H. Coulson on September 11, 1996; and a half-sister, Linda Coulson.Olive is survived by: her son, Richard Wells and his wife, Helen of Centerville, Iowa; a daughter, Judy Foster and her husband, Steve of Cincinnati, Iowa; a sister, Wanda Cowan of Cincinnati, Iowa; and a half-sister, Beverly Marshall of Kansas City, Missouri; five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Gerald Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at the Exline Cemetery in Exline, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 from 1 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 6 pm till 8 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to the Exline Community Center and left at the funeral home.
