Olive M. Tomlin's Obituary
Olive M. Tomlin, age 96 of Moravia, Iowa passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa.
She was born on July 30, 1917 in Unionville, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Edith (Roland) Harper. She married Curtis M. Tomlin on September 29, 1935 in Unionville, Iowa.
Olive spent many years working as a seamstress with Irelan's on the south side of the Centerville Square.
In her free time she enjoyed sewing, gardening, and most importantly, spending time with her family. Olive was a faithful member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Moravia.
She is survived by her five children, Richard (Sue) Tomlin of Runnells, Iowa, Ron (Mary Ellen) Tomlin of Laguna Niguel, California, Bob (Nilda) Tomlin of Williamsburg, Iowa, Nancy (Kent) Stansberry of McLean, Virginia, and Donna (Gary) Sacco of Moravia, Iowa; seventeen grandchildren; and twenty seven great-grandchildren.
Olive was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Curtis Tomlin; two brothers; five sisters; a grandson, Ricky Tomlin; and a daughter-in-law LeeAnn Tomlin.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Moravia, Iowa with Pastor Cindy Finn officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia, Iowa. A visitation will be held all day Friday at Lange Funeral Home in Moravia with the family present from 6-8 PM. Memorials have been established to either the Golden Age Care Center Employees or the Mercy Hospice Room at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville and may be given to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
