Norman Dell Riekens' Obituary
Norman Dell Riekens, 88 of Corydon, Iowa passed away May 6, 2024 at his home in Corydon, Iowa. He was born in Clear Lake, Iowa on March 25, 1936 to Arthur and Lois (Bemis) Riekens. After he graduated, he went on to join the National Guard.
Norman worked as a Plant Manager for Shivver's, then went on to be the Supervisor of Maintenance for East Penn/Voltmaster where he retired from. He also owned a sewing machine repair shop here in Corydon for many years.
Norman was a long-time member of the Wayne County Hospital board and a loyal member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry and spending time with his friends and family.
Norman is survived by his daughter, Kathy Mackey (Don); son-in-law, Dr. Marvin Lynn Faulkner; grandchildren, Simon (Jennifer) Dennis, Emily (Joe) Arnone, Ali (Bobby) Chandiramani, Gentry (Zach) Smith; seven great grandchildren; siblings, Sharon, Jan, Diane, Judy and Sid along with several other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Jo; daughter, Tammi Faulkner; grandchildren, Andrew Dennis and Taylor Faulkner; brothers, Jim Riekens and Ed Riekens.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Simon and Jennifer Dennis for their willingness to take care of Norman and Mary Jo for many years. They've given up their life and free time with no vacations or time off. The amount of gratitude cannot be expressed enough.
Funeral services will be at 11:00AM, Monday, May 13, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will immediately follow at Confidence Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour prior from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
