Norman Kay Pounds' Obituary
Norman Kay Pounds was born on December 11, 1941 to Phyllis Faye (Patterson) Pounds and Darrel Benjamin Pounds in Smith Center, Kansas. Norm left this earth on January 27, 2026 at 84 years of age. In young adult life he married Linda (Lash) Pounds to whom 4 children were born. A second marriage to Fern (Gorbal) Pounds gave him an additional son. Norm's final years were spent married to Ethel (Kuhlman) Pounds, where he added a step-son. Norm spent the majority of his career as an electrician/plumber. He began his working years as a lineman, where he took pride in placing the first gas meter in Estes Park, CO. Norm enjoyed square dancing in his younger years and also enjoyed camping with family. Norm participated in the Allerton Community plays for many years. He also operated the Family Recreation Center and Pounds Hardware while calling Allerton his home. After marrying Ethel, Norm took his love of the Lord and became an ordained minister, where he led online church services, leading to a special bond with Chris and Brad from Ohio, whom he considered part of his extended family. As Norm's site declined, he loved listening to audiobooks with Ethel. Norm's life ended living with his loving wife Ethel in the Corydon Specialty Care Center, where they enjoyed activities together, such as the adopted grandparent program, bingo, and interacting with animals. Norm's biggest wish upon his departure from this earth was to hear the Lord say, "well done".
