Norma Warren's Obituary
Norma J. Warren, daughter of Frank C. and Grace (Clark) Jones was born on July 23, 1925 in Clio, Iowa, and passed away peacefully on April 21, 2011 at the Corydon Nursing & Rehab Center, Corydon, Iowa at the age of 85. Norma was united in marriage to Warner B. Warren on April 1, 1944 in Tyler, Texas, and to this union four children were born: Dotty, Linda, Dick and Sue. Norma enjoyed playing bridge, watching her grandchildren play sports and walking her dog, Penny. She enjoyed sharing her pies and noodles with her family and friends. Sunday dinners and picnic lunches at the lake were family traditions. She was a member of the Corydon United Methodist Church and Martha Circle, O N O, and the American Legion Auxiliary for 63 years, where she helped cook Monday evening Rotary dinners for many years. Norma helped deliver milk for Jones Dairy while Warner B. was overseas during WWII. She worked as a waitress for Dorotha Baker and Lyle Beavers at their restaurants, and enjoyed serving customers. Those left to honor Norma's memory are her children: Dotty and David Snider of Seymour, Linda and Charlie Carpenter of Corydon, Dick and Nancy Warren of Chariton, and Sue and Dick Darrah of Corydon; grandchildren: Brad Shipley of Des Moines, Michele and Kevin Hersom of Cedar Falls, Clint and Tiffany Carpenter of Corydon, Lee Ann and Chris Osier of Chariton, Travis Warren of Ankeny, Tracy Warren of Urbandale, Brandon and Joanna Darrah of Dubuque, Grant and Bradi Darrah of Kansas City, Missouri and Cassandra Darrah of Corydon; step-grandchildren: Kathie and Joe Sherrard of Seymour, Ryan Snider and friend Emily Gibson of Armstrong, Missouri, and Andrea and Mike Riemenschneider of Kirksville, Missouri; great-grandchildren: Paige and Madison Hersom, Keaton and Trent Carpenter, Lauren Davis, Cayden Warren and Cohen Darrah; and step-great grandchildren: Jordan Osier, Trevor and Mallory Sherrard, Zachary Snider, Savanna Gibson, and Gracie, Ty, and Kayla Riemenschneider. Also surviving are her brother Milo Jones and wife Dee of Corydon, sister-in-law Maxine Jones of Corydon, sisters-in-law Ruth Warren of Pleasantville, Ellarea Davison and husband J. C. of Payson, Arizona and Mary Lou Sturgis and husband Larry of Lamoni, brother-in-law Bob Hatch of Atkinson, Illinois, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Norma was preceded in death by her brother Dick Jones, sisters Betty Lohr and husband Clare, and Marjorie Hatch and sister-in-law Geraldine Coates and husband Frank and brother-in-law Clell Warren.
