Norma Lee Campbell's Obituary
Norma Campbell, 79, of Corydon passed away, Monday, March 21, 2016 at Corydon Specialty Care. Norma was born on a farm east of Corydon on February 19, 1937 to Clyde & Flossie (Kelley) Blevins. She received her education from Corydon High School graduating in 1955. On October 31, 1956, Norma was united in marriage to Richard "Dick" Campbell. To this union were four children: Dennis, David, Donald and Darla. Norma was employed at the Wayne County Hospital as a Nurse's Aide for over 32 years and used to tell everyone that we had the "best little hospital around". She was very proud of those years and the friendships she made there. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was especially proud of her grandkids and supported them in their activities. She enjoyed family dinners, the card games that followed and rarely did you end up with the bid if Norma was bidding after you. Highlights of the summer were quiet evenings at the farm sitting around a bonfire reminiscing with the kids. Survivors include three children: Dennis Campbell and wife Brenda of Promise City, David Campbell of Clive, Darla Campbell of Des Moines, three grandchildren: Cody Campbell of Promise City, Katelyn Campbell of Promise City, Brandon Campbell and mother Kim Cady of Ames and Norma's long-time companion Bill Gibbs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Dick" Campbell on October 25, 2000, son Donald Campbell, June 23, 2013, six siblings: Doris Tuttle, Verlyn Blevins, Merlyn Blevins, Mildred Egbert, Bernice Egbert, Marvin Blevins and her parents. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 25, 2016 at Thomas-Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will immediately follow at Corydon Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Condolences may be shared at www.thomasrandolphfh.com and memorials may be given to Wayne County Hospital Auxiliary.
