Nellie Stickler's Obituary
Nellie Stickler, age 88 of Centerville, died Monday, July 9, 2007 at the Mercy Medical Center, Centerville, Iowa.
Nellie was born March 2, 1919, the daughter of John and Myrtle (Lowe) Lord in Mystic, Iowa. She married Bill Stickler February 3, 1934 in Centerville, Iowa. He preceded her in death December 7, 1986. Nellie enjoyed collecting cookbooks, reading the Bible, playing cards and going to the ""Second Time Around"". She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Saddle Club, 18-80 Club and was in the church choir.
Nellie is survived by a daughter, Loretta Ray of Ely, Iowa; sisters, Jennie (Ernie) Daniels of Centerville, Iowa, and Becky Myers of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Michelle (Joseph) Michalec of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Corinna (Marvin) Araujo of Ely, Iowa; and great-grandchildren, Desha and Mae Lina Araujo both of Ely, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Clifford, Charles, Cecil and Eddy; a sister, Frances Morran; a grandson, Ricky Ray; and son-in-law, Richard Ray.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday, July 22, 2007 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home in Centerville with Pastor Lloyd Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunset Cemetery in Moulton, Iowa. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday with family present from 6-8 PM. A memorial has been established to the First Baptist Church and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
