Nellie Cox's Obituary
Nellie Louise Cox was born on June 26, 1935 to Thorest and Bessie (Polly) Orndorff in Putnam County, Missouri. Nellie grew up with two siblings, her sister Betty and brother Robert. She attended many different schools during her childhood. On December 28, 1951 she was united in marriage to Raymond Verle Cox. From this marriage came three children: Jerry Ray, Steve Dwayne, and Patricia Ann. Nellie enjoyed doing many different crafts such as ceramics, puzzles, and loom knitting, as well as working in her garden when the weather was nice. Nellie also enjoyed the company of her cats and dog, and feeding many other outdoor animals. Nellie passed away the morning of Sunday March 1, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, children; Jerry and Patricia, mother and father Bessie and Thorest, siblings; Robert and Betty, grandchildren; BJ and Anthony and great granddaughter, Mattelyn. She is survived by her son Steve and daughter-in-law Cheryl Cox, grandchildren: Chad (Erica) Cox, Angie Cox, Jesse (Melissa) Cox, Miranda Cox, Marie Cox, David Cox, and Trevor Casey, and many great grandchildren and other relatives. A Graveside service will be Friday, March 6, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Corydon Cemetery with Pastor Steve Larson officiating. Memorials may be given to the family and will be designated at a later date.
