Naoma Thresa Kelly's Obituary
Naoma Thresa Kelly, age 91, of Centerville, Iowa passed away Saturday, August 01, 2020 in Grand Blanc, Michigan.
She was born on October 15, 1928 in Harper, Iowa, the daughter of Ambrose and Rose (Griener) Jaeger. Thresa graduated from Keota High School. She was united in marriage to Dr. Edward Kelly on June 1, 1950. The couple celebrated nearly forty-eight years of marriage until his passing on January 25, 1998.
Thresa cherished her family and took pride in being a wife, mother, and grandmother to her loving family. It should be noted that Thresa was a devout Catholic and longtime member of the St. Marys Catholic Church in Centerville.
Thresa began her working career with Snyders and later, managed Stephanies on the Centerville Square for thirty years until her retirement.
She enjoyed many hobbies throughout her lifetime, including playing golf and card games with family and friends.
Thresa was a past member of the Hospital Auxiliary in Centerville, as well as a member of the Outlook Club.
Left to honor her memory are her seven children, Michael Kelly, Peter Kelly, Edward "Dan" Kelly, Thomas Kelly, Mary Bernard, Ann Cook, and Theresa Kelly; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two siblings, Joann Colbert and Marianne Rayner.
Thresa was preceded in death by her parents, Ambrose and Rose Griener; her husband, Dr. Edward Kelly; her son, Patrick Kevin Kelly; a brother, Kenneth Jaeger; and two sisters, Betty Reed and Loretta Jensen.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Friday, August 7, 2020 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Centerville with Father Timothy Armbruster officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery, Centerville. A visitation will take place from 5-7 PM, Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville. A Rosary Service will be conducted by Father Timothy at 5 PM. Memorials have been established to either the St. Marys Catholic Church or to EveryStep Hospice and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544. Condolences may be shared online at www.langefh.com. Due to the Covid-19 guidelines, we ask that you practice social distancing as much as possible for the visitation and the funeral. Masks are required to be worn while attending the services at St. Mary's Church.
