Nadine McDonald's Obituary
Nadine McDonald age 96 of Unionville, MO went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, June 6, 2015 at the Putnam County Memorial Hospital in Unionville, MO.
Nadine was born in Pennville, MO on October 27, 1918 the youngest child of Henry and Winnie (Quigley) Bachman. She was raised and attended school in Pennville. On November 14, 1936 she was united in marriage to Leland McDonald, her childhood sweetheart. The couple lived for a short time in Arkansas when Leland was inducted into the Army. Following boot camp Nadine and her daughters retuned to Pennville while Leland served his country. They returned to farming in the Pennville area after Leland was discharged. The couple owned the Pennville store where she graded the eggs and tested the cream. Nadine and her best friend Betty Conkin were wall paper hangers and decorators.
Nadine was a woman of great faith having accepted the Lord as her Savior at a young age. She lived her life and served God faithfully in her ministry of music having played the piano at the Assembly of God church in Unionville until just a few years ago. As well she played the guitar having taught Nancy and Murl Guffey their first cords on the guitar. She was blessed to have been able to travel with missionary Morris Plotts at a young age and was known as a woman of prayer. Many of us will miss knowing that Nadine was calling out our name and lifting us up daily to the Lord.
Nadine is survived by her children; Dixie Hill and her husband Bob of Unionville, Nancy Mullenix of Unionville and Tom McDonald and his friend Ellen of Pennville. 7 Grandchildren; Pam Torrey, Brad Trent, Mark Trent, Vicki Knowles, Joe Mullenix, Nathan McDonald and Aaron McDonald, her 20 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Leland, her brothers; Billy, Guy and Bruce Bachman and sisters; Bernice Keller, Fern Haynes and Faye Thomas as well as her sons-in-law Dean Trent and Roger Mullenix.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Unionville Assembly of God church on Highway 5 in Unionville, MO with Pastors Howard Luscan and Alan Coonfield officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM on Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow in the Unionville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for memorial contributions to be given to the PC CafAC. in Unionville.
