Myrtle Foster's Obituary
Myrtle Gladys Foster, 87, of Corydon, passed away on April 21, 2017 at Corydon Specialty Care. Myrtle was born on April 12, 1930 to the late Fred and Rosa (Tinnermeier) Ruthmeier in Newton, Iowa. She attended the Newton school system and on February 17, 1948 she married Robert "Bob" Foster. To this union, four children were born. The couple moved from Newton to Wayne county in 1959 and have resided here ever since. Myrtle enjoyed helping her husband on the farm, gardening, making a great batch of chili, being faithful to her Jehovah Witness religion and spending time with her family and friends. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her children. Myrtle is survived by her children: Susan Clark of Des Moines, Marvin (Carla) Foster of Cambria and Larry (Donna) Foster of Corydon; grandchildren: Tonja (Joe) Partridge of Powersville, Missouri, Jay (Leslie) Foster of Corydon, Jeff (Megan) Foster of Allerton, Lance Foster of Phoenix, Arizona, Sable Foster (Ryan Gilbert) of Phoenix, Arizona and Zachary Foster of Chariton. She is also survived by her brother, Donald (Joyce) Ruthmeier of Newton; her sister, Verna Urley of Monroe and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; son, Bobby Foster; son-in-law, Richard Clark and nine brothers and sisters: Ralph, Glen, Floyd, Robert, Violet, Vern, Darrell, Morris and Florence. A Celebration of Life open house will be held from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Corydon Senior Housing, 511 East Jackson Street in Corydon. Cookies and beverages will be provided.
