Muriel Maxine Hatfield's Obituary
Muriel Maxine Hatfield, 83 of Centerville passed away Friday, May 20, 2022 at her home.
Maxine was born to John & Anna (Couchman) Armstrong on April 15, 1939 in Mystic. Maxine received her education from Mystic High School, graduating in 1957.
Maxine worked as a cook for 60 years. She worked in numerous restaurants and nursing homes before retiring in May 2012. Maxine was a member of Drake Avenue Christian Church in Centerville. She enjoyed playing BINGO, watching her grandkids activities, traveling to Texas and attending cookouts. Family was always first for Maxine and she loved her time spent with her family.
Survivors include her children: Debbie Swayne (Kevin Bankson), Rodney Hatfield (Cathy), John Hatfield (Patty), Kimberly Walker, Jimmy Hatfield (Carissa), 23 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and her siblings; Mary Taylor, Wanda Armstrong and Willard Armstrong (Barb) and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Babbette "Babs" Thomas, siblings: John Armstrong, Patricia Armstrong, Phyllis Whitfield, sons-in-law, Mike Walker, Larry Swayne and a brother-in-law, Robert Taylor.
Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Interment will take place in Highland Cemetery immediately following. Visitation will be all day Tuesday with family present from 5-7:00 PM. Memorials may be given to family and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com or facebook.com/thomasfuneralhome.
