DOROTHY DEAN (FARIS) BROWN Dorothy Dean Faris Brown, age 87 of Indianola, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at the Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa after being a resident of the Indianola Good Samaritan Care Center. Dorothy was born on August 22, 1925, in rural Seymour, the daughter of Everett Ivan and Margaret Emaline (Sager) Faris. She attended the Brush College rural school and graduated from Seymour High School. Dorothy was united in marriage to Tommy Brown on October 26, 1946. She retired from the Seymour Care Center. Dorothy is survived by her three children, Dale Brown and wife Vicki of Knoxville, Iowa; Robert and wife Carla of Indianola, Iowa; and Sandra and husband Mike Jones of Bloomfield, Iowa. Dorothy is also survived by her grandchildren, who were the light of her eyes: Kelly (Scott) Retterer, Jason Brown, twins Nicole (Jason) Klaver and Michelle Jones, Ashley Brown, Chase (Megan) Jones, Rebecca Brown, and Chance Jones. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Haley, Owen, Amelia, and twins Preston and Wyatt; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Tommy, her parents, brother Richard Faris, two brothers in infancy Marion Brice and her twin brother Dorsey DeWayne; and her infant grandson Ryan.
