MRS. DORIS MAXINE EWING Obituary's Obituary
Doris Frame Ewing Doris Maxine (Frame) Ewing was born June 24, 1920 near Confidence in Wright Township, Iowa to Joseph Edward Frame and Ruby Robison Frame. She died December 25, 2013 at the Continental Care Center, Seymour, Iowa. Doris attended Confidence and Hickory Ridge country schools and then graduated from Corydon High School in 1938. After graduating she worked in Corydon at the ASCS office. On November 26, 1939 she married her childhood sweetheart, Wayne Carrollton Ewing. The couple moved to a farm west of Confidence where they farmed with Carrollton's parents, Alvin and Isis Ewing. To this union a daughter, Karen Kay, was born in 1941 and in 1945 a son, Teddy Lynn completed the family. In 1954 Carrollton was diagnosed with cancer in the spinal cord. An experimental surgery was performed at Mayo clinic in Rochester. The following year he became a quadriplegic and Doris with the help of her children and father-in-law took over the farming and saw to it that the children had an education. In 1964 Doris and Carrollton moved to Corydon and Teddy and his wife, Judy Williamson Ewing, moved to the farm. Doris was deputy auditor in Wayne county for Rose DeBolt. When Rose retired, Doris was elected as auditor and held this position until her retirement. Doris was a great care taker for Carrollton. She cared for him many years at home until he was moved to the Corydon Care Center. Doris took him out for family gatherings and especially for all the grandchildren's sports events from Jr. high through college. Carrollton passed away in 1994. After Carrollton's passing, Doris was still a care giver to all her friends. She was a very good Christian woman and was a member of the Confidence Baptist church and later attended the Corydon Baptist church.
