Mrs. Louise Carleen Schooley Obituary's Obituary
Louise Carleen Schooley was born July 7, 1919 to John (Ted) and Merle (Traupel) Surbaugh. She passed away at her home on September 15, 2012. She was united in marriage to Dean Schooley on January 26, 1949. They had one son, John. Carleen attended Allerton High School. After graduation, she moved to Des Moines where she worked for Look Magazine & cleaned houses. After getting married, she & Dean lived on the family farm all of their married life. She thoroughly enjoyed being outside gardening, helping with the livestock & working on the farm. Most of all, she enjoyed being a grandmother, attending school functions and having her granddaughters follow her around the farm. Carleen was a member of the High Point Methodist Church in Garden Grove where she attended faithfully and had many dear friends. She also enjoyed lifelong friendships with the ladies from The Needlecraft Club, where she'd been a member since childhood. Left behind is a family who loved her dearly: son John, his wife Lori, and granddaughters Mallory, Mackenzie and Marissa ,and one sister, Irma Lewis, of Des Moines. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews who bestowed on her the blessing of cards, phone calls and visits at home. She was preceeded in death by husband Dean, infant daughter Mary and siblings: John Surbaugh, Helen Koepsel and Irene Honett.
