Mr. Louis J. "Louie" Clark Obituary's Obituary
Louis (Louie) Clark, son of Lloyd Clark and Phoebe Russell Ferrel Clark was born near Beacon, Iowa on March 8, 1923 and passed away September 1, 2011 at Corydon Nursing and Rehab in Corydon, Iowa. Louie resided and attended school in Beacon and later Davenport. He and his family moved to Allerton where he graduated from Allerton High School in 1941. Louie enlisted in the Army in March 1942 and served almost four years. He fought at the Beaches of Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. During his military career Louie earned the American Theater Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with one Silver Battle star, and the Bronze Service Arrowhead. He was honorably discharged on December 7, 1945 and became a member of the American Legion, DAV, UFW, and Elks. Louie attended Portland University for one year. He lived in Washington for 30 years. After he attended college he was married and two sons were born, Roger and Paul. In 1979 Louie returned to Allerton lived in Wayne County until his death on September 1, 2011. Besides Louie's strong support to his country he enjoyed and supported all young athletes and their academic achievements. He supported all Wayne Athletics all through the 80's and 90's. Louie was anonymous in all of his contributions to Wayne Sports and donated several thousands of dollars to the Booster Club and any other athletic needs. Louis volunteered and was present and assisted with the Drake Relays and Wayne Track. He was also present at Wayne sporting events and especially enjoyed baseball. Louie was known to be very generous to graduates of Wayne School as they went on to pursue their future goals. He also enjoyed and made many friends bowling and golfing. He also enjoyed drinking coffee at C-Mart with his friends. He is survived by his nieces Patty Richards and Connie Garringer both of Marengo, Iowa, his great nieces Jenny and husband David Nickell of Allerton and Neelea and husband Tim Wells of Altoona, great nephews Rodney Shafter and Jamie of Chariton, Tavis Garringer and wife Jen of Walford, Iowa and great niece Tereni Gehring of Marengo. He also enjoyed his great great nieces and nephews: Adam, Trey, Valerie, Keyton, Sawyer, Connor, Rylee and Tharen, great great great nephew Zayden and also his nephews-in-law Tork and Trever Hook. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, step father Alva Ferrell, his sons Roger and Paul, four brothers, Raymond, Harry, Roger and Forrest, sister Dana, nephew Bill Shafer and great niece Amber.
