Montelle Morrow's Obituary
Darrel (Montelle) Morrow, 75 of Centerville died June 1, 2005 at his home in Centerville.
Montelle was born the son of Darrel and Geneva (Besse) Morrow on March 17, 1930 in Exline, Iowa. He received his education from Exline Schools and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Chaminade University in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Montelle was a truck driver until being drafted into the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam and the Paris Peace Talks. Montelle then retired from the United States Army as a Lt. Colonel after serving 21 years. He was a member of the Exline Christian Church, a past Appanoose County Sheriff, Magistrate Judge, and General Manager of the Appanoose County Community Railroad (retiring after 17 years). Montelle was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Caden James Underwood.
He is survived by his wife Patsy, sons Butch Morrow and his wife Becky and David Morrow all of Centerville, stepchildren; Jeff Underwood of Centerville, Jim Underwood and his wife Carla of Centerville, Julie Kaefring and her husband Mike of Tipton, Iowa, seven grandsons, two granddaughters, sister Madeline Fletcher of Des Moines, brother and sister-in-laws, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2005 at Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Carp officiating. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established which will be determined by the family at a later date and may be left or mailed to Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544
