Millie Jackson's Obituary
Millie Roberta Davidson Jackson, daughter of John W. and Carrie O. (Conner) Davidson was born a twin on April 8, 1925 in Waterloo, Iowa and passed from this life July 23, 2011. Her parents moved to Humeston, Iowa when she was in the 3rd grade. She took lessons on her Grandpa Conner's snare drum and played in the school band and after she graduated from Humeston High School in 1943 she worked at the Rouse Drug Store in Humeston until she married. Millie attended the Christian Church in Humeston and was baptized at the age of 14. She sang in the choir and taught a nursery class for a while. She was united in marriage to Cleo J. Jackson of rural Russell, Iowa on January 16, 1944 at the Humeston Christian Church. To this union four children were born: Larry Lee, Donald LeRoy, Dwayne Allen, and Mary Elizabeth. Cleo and Millie farmed in Wayne County most of their married years before they retired in October 1996 and moved to Corydon. They were married 67 years. Millie liked to put jigsaw puzzles together, paint by number pictures and make quilts for her children and grandchildren. She and Cleo loved to square dance. She was a past member of the Chariton Circle Round Square Club and the Friendly Circle Club of Cambria. She kept busy. She is preceded in death by her father, mother, small son Larry Lee, sisters-in-law Norma Davidson, Alfretta Townsend and husband William and Twyla Fulton, brothers Harvey L. Davidson, Readean R. Davidson, Forest Davidson, Clifford Davidson, twin sister Mildred and brother-in-law John Hommer. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Cleo, children Donald and wife Margaret of rural Corydon, Dwayne and wife Terry of Chariton, and Mary and husband Max Tuttle of Corydon, grandchildren Angie and Mike Jensen, Sheila and Mike Craig, Pam and Jared Chambers, Andy and Elizabeth Tuttle, Brian Tuttle, Damon Jackson, Adam and Giulia Jackson and Kate Jackson, 2 step grandsons. 1 step granddaughter, 11 great grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren, sister Maxine Hommer, and many nieces and nephews.
