Mildred H. Lindquist's Obituary
Mildred H. Lindquist, 97 of Altoona, formerly of Corydon passed away April 17, 2015 at Altoona Nursing & Rehab. Mildred was born to William H. & Edna (Showalter) Hamilton on November 17, 1917 in Allerton. She received her education from Allerton High School graduating in 1935. Mildred was united in marriage to Paul Lindquist. The two moved to Corydon and would make it their home for life. Mildred was a long time member of Corydon Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the Rebecca Lodge. She was employed by Wayne Community Schools in the Administration office. For over 30 years, Mildred was the secretary for the School Board and Superintendent. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and gardening. Survivors include, daughter, Karolyn Bettis Witt (Larry), grandchildren: Julie Witt Stephenson (Michael), Marty Witt (Jacque), great grandchildren: Ashley Stephenson Brandow (Brett), Andrew Stephenson (Taelor), Anah Witt and Leah Witt. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul Lindquist, her twin brother, Charles, sister, Eva Elaine, and her older brother, William Eugene Hamilton. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Thomas-Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will follow at Chariton Cemetery in Chariton, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to service from 12-1:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to the family which will be designated at a later date. Condolences may be shared at www.thomasrandolphfh.com.
