Mildred Buban's Obituary
Mildred Buban, age 97, of Centerville, Iowa, died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Lawrence and Catherine (Cvitanovich) Padavich on October 1, 1911 near Brazil, Iowa. She attended the Brazil Community School.On April 11, 1927, Mildred was united in marriage to John Buban in Unionville, Missouri. She was a baker and cook at Centerville Community Schools and later was a housekeeper for Motel 60 in Centerville. One of Mildred's greatest joys was growing all kinds of fruits, vegetables and flowers, especially her love of roses. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Centerville Garden Club.She is preceded in death by: her parents; husband, John Buban on August 27, 1991; brothers, Milton Padavich, Charles Padavich and John Padavich; a sister, Isabel Drew; and a son-in-law, Roy Houser.Mildred is survived by: her sons, John Buban and his wife, Virginia of Knoxville, Iowa and James C. Buban of Van Alstyme, Texas; a daughter, Kathy Houser of Centerville, Iowa; grandchildren, Stephen Knorr and his wife, Cathie of Centerville, Iowa, Dana Noon and her husband, Dale of Des Moines, Iowa, Greg Buban and his wife, Sue of Knoxville, Iowa and Marsha LaGrone and her husband, Dwight of Anna, Texas; ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Monday, March 9, 2009 at 11 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville, Iowa with Fr. Dennis Schaab, CPPS officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2009 from 1 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with a Rosary at 6:30 pm and the family present form 6 pm till 8 pm.Memorials can be made to the Centerville Garden Club or St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville and can be left at the funeral home.
