Mike 'Smiley Joe' Holtman's Obituary
Mike "Smiley Joe" Holtman, age 61, of Centerville, Iowa, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.
Mike was born on February 2, 1958 in Grundy County, Missouri, to Paul and Patricia (Lehman) Holtman. He graduated from Trenton High School in Trenton, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Jakush on May 29, 1999 in Centerville, Iowa.
Mike enjoyed fishing, farming and spending time with his family. He enjoyed working on lawn mowers in his spare time. Mike worked at Rubbermaid in Centerville for many years. He also farmed for Bob Rosencrants throughout much of his adult life. He was currently employed through Lee Container in Centerville.
Left to honor Mikes memory include his wife, Mary Ann of Centerville; seven step children, Vernon Head of Centerville, Mikki (Steve) Stufflebeem of Centerville, Mary (Wes) Schwering of Richland, Abby (Jerry) Pross of Centerville, Tonya (Kenny) Clemens of Centerville, Earl James (Heather) Stansberry of Centerville, Iowa and Steve (Lisa) Head of Orlando, Florida; a step daughter in law, Missy Head of Casper, Wyoming; seventeen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; his father, Paul Holtman of Sumner, Missouri; two sisters, Cindy (John) Montgomery of Sumner, Missouri, and Kellie Holtman of St. Joseph, Missouri; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Holtman; 2 step sons, David Head and Jason; an infant son, Michael Paul; a step daughter, Robyn; and a step grandson, Logan Schwering.
Cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00PM, Friday, March 1, 2019 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Rev. Roger Pross officiating. A Visitation will take place Friday, March 1, 2019 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, with the family greeting friends from 1:00-3:00PM. A memorial has been established to the family of Mike Holtman, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
