Michaela Anne Stump's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michaela Anne Stump, 36, a loving partner, daughter, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on August 4th, 2023. She was so loved.
She was born to Mitchell Stump and Melissa Mitchell on June 7th, 1987 in Des Moines, Iowa. She was the first of three children, shortly followed by Mindy and Zach. After graduating from Wayne Community High School in 2005, she joined the Iowa National Guard, where she was a medic for 6 years. She began working at Hy-Vee Distribution Center in Chariton, Iowa, where she met the love of her life and long-time Partner, Curt Feagins. Together, they had three cats, whom they treated as children: Sir Lancelot, Little Dude, and Bearica. They lived together in Knoxville, Iowa.
Michaela loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, laughing, singing, trivia, and playing video games with her siblings. Although in a big crowd she tended to remain quiet, do not let that fool you - Michaela was a huge weirdo. She loved being silly and strange with her close family and friends. She will be fondly remembered by those who knew her well as kind, smart, funny, and gentle.
In addition to her long-time partner Curt Feagins, Michaela is survived by; her mother, Melissa Mitchell of Corydon; her father, Mitchell Stump of Iowa City; her brother, Zach Stump of Indianola; her sister, Mindy Stump of Des Moines; her grandparents, Dixie and Joe Stump of Selma; her grandmother, Donna Ballas of Des Moines; her grandfather, Dean Mitchell of Homosassa, Florida and many extended family and friends.
Michaela is preceded in death by her cousin Nick Hauser.
Visitation for Michaela will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon, Iowa. Funeral Services for Michaela will be held at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon, Iowa on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow the Funeral Service at Clio Cemetery. Memorials may be written to Curt Feagins to be determined at a later date and may be mailed to Thomas Funeral Home, ATTN: Stump family, 303 E. Jefferson Corydon, Iowa 50060.
