Michael Menken, 52 of Centerville passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 in Peoria, Illinois. Michael was born to Robert and Marilyn (Thomasson)Menken on December 13, 1958 in Centerville. He married Kelly Swarts. Michael served his country in the United States Army from 1979 - 1987. He was a member of the American Legion in Galva, Illinois. Michael enjoyed shooting pool, fishing, football and time spent with his family and friends. Michael is survived by two children; Malorie Dawn Menken(Michael Bills) of Centerville, Bobby Lee Harwell of Centerville, mother, Marilyn Terry(James) of Cincinnati, grandson Tathan Bills of Mystic, three sisters; Debra Hornaday(Paul) of Bloomfield, Rhonda Spiker(Walt) of Centerville, Connie Shiltz(Roger) of Rathbun, grandmother, Catherine McCoy of Monroe, Iowa, an aunt, Kay VanWyk(Melvin) of Des Moines, an uncle Lloyd Thomasson Jr.(Marsha) of Newton and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kelly Menken, his father and grandfather Lloyd Thomasson. Funeral service will be 1pm, Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Thomas Funeral Home. Visitation will be all day Friday with the family present from 6-8 p.m.. Interment will be in Sunset View Cemetery near Moulton.
