Melvin A. Chumbley's Obituary
Melvin A. Chumbley, age 76 of Mystic, Iowa passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022 at MercyOne Medical Center in Centerville.
He was born in Warren County, Iowa on October 1, 1945, the son of Winton A. and Eva (Sargent) Chumbley. Melvin has been a longtime resident of Mystic, Iowa.
He is survived by his two children, Jill Jones (Billy Joe Cross) of Ottumwa, Iowa and Cory Allen of LaFayette, Alabama; a grandson, Nathan Jones of Mystic, Iowa; his brother, Melvin Chumbley of Des Moines, Iowa; a nephew, Tony (Deanna) Chumbley of Indianola, Iowa; as well as other surviving family members.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Winton and Eva Chumbley; a sister, Eva Gater; and a son-in-law, Ted Jones.
According to Melvins wishes, cremation has been accorded. There are no scheduled services at this time. An open memorial has been established and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544. Lange Funeral Home in Centerville has been entrusted with caring for the family.
