Melbourne Worley, 83 of Centerville died Monday, December 28, 2009 at his home. Melbourne was born in Exline on March 8, 1926 to Manley & Edna(Walter) Worley. He graduated from Exline High School. Melbourne was married to Ruth Thomas Worley for 58 years. He was a member of the U.A.W. and enjoyed traveling, golfing, woodworking, bowling, gardening and auto and small tractor mechanics, He was employed by John Deere in Moline Illinois and Ottumwa, Iowa. Melbourne is survived by three children, Don Crow(Joyce) of Centerville, Kathy Doll of Centerville, Peggy Van Pelt(Peter) of Owasso, OK; six grandchildren, Chris Crow(Amy) of Flower Mound, TX, Jason Crow(Cindy) of Quincy, IL, Krishna Carlyle(Kenny) of Centerville, Justin Doll(Ally) of Centerville, Clark Van Pelt of Owasso, OK, Wade Van Pelt of Owasso, OK; four great grandchildren, C.J. & Dalton Crow of Quincy, Illinois and Kathryn & Kyra Carlyle of Centerville, brother Jon B. Worley(Darlene) of Machesney Park, Illinois and a sister-in-law Reva Ballard of Centerville. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Worley on September 29, 2008. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 1, 2010 at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Suzanne Gorhau officiating. Visitation will be all day Thursday, December 31, 2009 with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
