Maysie J. Cole's Obituary
Maysie J. Cole, of Centerville, Iowa died Monday, September 13, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa.
She was born August 19, 1934 in Harrison, Nebraska, the daughter of William and Anna (Jebbins) Locker. Maysie graduated from high school in Harrison in 1952. She later married John Cole in 1956. He preceded her in death on July 11, 1976.
Maysie spent her adult years raising her family. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, cooking, collecting Native American art, and tending to her flowers. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her four children; Rick (Tammy) Cole of Moravia, Iowa, Randy Cole of Centerville, Iowa, Tom Cole of Centerville, Iowa, and Kristi (Steve) Jones of Crossville, Alabama; seventeen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and three sisters, Goldie Hammacker, Frances Mation, and Dot Pearman. She was preceded in death by her husband John; and her parents.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Lange Funeral Home in Moravia, Iowa. Visitation will be on Thursday at Lange Funeral Home in Moravia from 12-1 PM. Burial will follow the service in the Concord Cemetery near Walnut City, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family and may be left at or mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
