Maxine Louise McKern's Obituary
Maxine Louise McKern, age 89, of Winterset, Iowa and a former Centerville, Iowa resident, died Sunday, February 21, 2016, at Madison County Hospital in Winterset. She was born the daughter of Charles and Beulah (Boyer) Quick on December 01, 1926 in Centerville, Iowa. She graduated from the Centerville Community High School.On August 12, 1945, Maxine was united in marriage to Jack McKern in Centerville. She worked for many years for the Appanoose Community Care Services as a Home Health Aid and also was a Hospice Visitor. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Centerville. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Jack McKern on July 19, 1974; her son, Charles McKern on April 30, 2001; and a sister, Rosemary Mikels.Maxine will be missed by: her daughter, Terri Branson and her husband, William of Winterset, Iowa; grandchildren, Scott Branson and his wife, Shalini of Winterset, Iowa and Carrie Burgett and her husband, Chris of Winterset, Iowa; along with many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the Church of the Nazarene in Centerville, Iowa with Walter King officiating. Burial will follow at the Main Station Cemetery at Rathbun Lake. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 2 pm until 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with the family present from 4 pm until 6 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to the Church of the Nazarene and left or mailed to the funeral home.
