Max Albert Probasco's Obituary
Max Albert Probasco, age 86 of Centerville, Iowa, died Sunday, April 1, 2007 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville. He was born the son of Clarence and Cecil (Freeborn) Probasco on August 5, 1920 near Exline, Iowa. He attended the Zoar rural school and Zoar church in youth. February 28, 1943, Max as united in marriage to Marietta J. Kinser in Lancaster, Missouri. At age 17, he started working at the Centerville Sale barn and later he would farm south east of Exline, Iowa. In 1955, He purchased Livestock hauling truck and transported livestock to the sale barn for many years for farmers in the area. He and his family became member of the First Baptist Church in Centerville in 1979. He served on many church boards and was and usher for many years and was a member of the Centerville Saddle Club.He is preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Marietta Probasco on March 27, 2002; sister, Ruth Gradwell; brothers-in-law, Wendell Burgher, Charles Gradwell and Carl Darrah; a nephew, Jim Gradwell.Max is also survived by: his daughter, Charlotte Long and her husband, Erman of Rathbun, Iowa; granddaughter, Amy Brown and her husband, James of Centerville, Iowa; great grandsons, Garrett and Logan Brown of Centerville, Iowa; sister, Dorothy Burgher of Colorado; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Darrah of Corydon, Iowa.Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 6, 2007 at 10:30 am at the To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Max Albert Probasco please visit our Sympathy Store.
