Max C. Moulton's Obituary
Max C. Moulton, age 80 of Moulton, Iowa, died Thursday, September 13, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center - Long Term Care in Centerville, Iowa. He was born the son of Harry and Daisy Mae (Davis) Moulton on August 10, 1927 near Udell, Iowa. He graduated from the Moulton Community School in 1944.Max started out farming with his family until he was called to the service on March 16, 1946, Max began serving his country with the Army Air Corp as a Clerk Typist during WWII until his honorable discharge on September 5, 1947. He was awarded the Good Conduct and Victory Medals. Max was united in marriage to Enid Tipton on May 30, 1948 in Centerville, Iowa. He and Enid purchased the Moulton Cafe after returning from the service and later in1957, Max would join Turner wholesale as a salesman and later would work for Farner-Bocken Company for over 35 years and retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Burl McClure American Legion Post 280 of Moulton where he served as Adjutant, Post Commander; was a member of the Moulton Christian Church. He served on the Crosslines Board; Past City Councilman. He had a great passion for working with wood and was a longtime St. Louis Cardinal Fan.He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Wilbur, Merle and Merval Moulton; sisters, Fern Swaim, Leah Campbell, Minnie Vance and Reta Harrington.Max is survived by: his wife, Enid Moulton of Moulton, Iowa; daughters, Deanna Duley and her husband, Richard of Moberly, Missouri and Linda Orman and her husband, Bernard of Macon, Missouri; grandchildren, Justin Duley and his wife, Carrie of Cape Coral, Florida; Jared Duley and his fiancee, Jen Jansonius of San Antonio, Texas, Lindsay Moore and her husband, Matt of Macon, Missouri, Brandon Orman of Columbia, Missouri; great grandchildren, Alex and Meghan Duley of Cape Coral, Florida; sisters, Ruby Ballew of Moberly, Missouri and Betty Spurgeon of Burlington, Iowa; and a brother, Robert Moulton of Ankeny, Iowa.Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2007 at 1 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Reg Higginbottom officiating. Burial with full military honors by the Berl McClure American Legion of Moulton will follow at the Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton.
