Matilda M. "Tilly" Vruble's Obituary
Matilda M. 'Tilly' Vruble, age 96 of Numa, Iowa, died on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Philip and Jakomina (Polich) Micetich on July 4, 1915 in Martinstown near Numa, Iowa. She received her education in the Numa Community Schools in Numa, Iowa.On July 29, 1933, Tilly was united in marriage to Stanley Vruble, Sr. at the St. Mary's Parish in Centerville, Iowa. After their marriage, they lived in Jerome, Iowa for a time then moved to Chicago, Illinois. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. 1957, they moved to Melrose Park, Illinois where she would work part-time at JC Penny's. They were members of Sacred Heart Parish. They made several trips back to Jerome and Centerville area to visit family and friends. Beginning in the Summer of 1972, they would spend summer time in Numa and they would spend winters in Melrose Park. In 1998, would move back to Numa, Iowa where she would enjoy her gardening and was a member of the St. Mary's Parish in Centerville.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Stanley Vruble, Sr. on March 29, 1999; sisters, Mary Azzolin, Anna Vruble and Victoria Micetich; brothers, Phillip, Charley and Angelo Micetich.Tilly is survived by: her sons, Stanley Vruble, Jr of Numa, Iowa, Benedict Vruble of Wheaton, Illinois, Ronald and his wife, Nancy Vruble of Aurora, Illinois and Kenneth Vruble of Wheaton, Illinois; a daughter, Marlene and her husband, William Snyder of Elmhurst, Illinois; five grandchildren and one great grandson; many nieces, nephews and cousins.Mass of Resurrection will be held on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 11 am at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville, Iowa with Fr. Dennis Schaab, CPP.S officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, from 2 pm until 8 pm with the family present from 6 pm until 8 pm and a Rosary held at 7 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church and left or mailed to the funeral home.
