Mary Elizabeth Stroud's Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Stroud, 65, of Clio passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Wayne County Hospital in Corydon. Mary was born to Dossie & Dorothy (Cox) Jackson on March 15, 1951 in Corydon, Iowa. She attended Corydon Schools. After school she worked at Methodist Hospital as a dietician. On August 2, 1978 she was united in marriage to Ronald Stroud. Mary was a truck driver for the majority of her life. She drove for Ruan, Heartland, and many others. Mary loved the outdoors and enjoyed mowing her yard. She also had a passion for gardening and sewing. Mary was an excellent cook, she enjoyed baking and cake decorating. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be missed dearly. Survivors include her husband, Ronald Stroud of Clio, two children: Angela Dillard of Allerton, Roy Benda (Shanee) of Corydon, five grandchildren: Zoey Elizabeth Benjamin of Allerton, Michelle Van Fleet (Zack) of Allerton, Morgan, Kinzer, and Karlee Knust of Corydon, great granddaughter, Cadence Elizabeth Shields of Allerton, five siblings; Larry Bishop (Sharon) of Knoxville, TN, Walter Jackson (Helen) of Eddyville, Jim Jackson (Betty) of Oskaloosa, Sandy Jackson of Corydon, Steve Jackson (Susan) of West Branch, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Dossie & Dorothy, son Ronald Louis Stroud, and two siblings; Lyle Bishop and Ellen Benjamin. Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. Monday March 28, 2016 at Thomas-Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will immediately follow at Shriver cemetery. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial will be decided at a later time.
