Mary Kathryn Padavich's Obituary
Mary Kathryn Padavich, age 95 of Centerville, passed away Tuesday, July 05, 2016 at the Golden Age Care Center in Centerville.
Mary was born in Centerville, Iowa on July 9, 1920, the daughter of Fred and Josephine (West) Hayes. She graduated from Centerville High School.
She was united in marriage to Charles Ronald Padavich on July 24, 1941 in Kahoka, Missouri and to this union, three children were born, Ron, Rosalie, and Kathy. Placing her family first in life, Marys true love was her family.
In her free time she enjoyed many hobbies, including gardening, furniture restoration, and quilting. However, Marys favorite pastime was attending garage sales.
Mary also spent many years employed with the Continental Telephone Company in Centerville as a telephone operator.
She is survived by her three children, Ron (Margaret) Padavich of Des Moines, Iowa, Rosalie (Russell) Halverson of Centerville, Iowa and Kathy Herbst of Centerville, Iowa; eight grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Lois Padavich of Brazil, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ronald Padavich; her parents; six siblings; as well as her in-laws.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM, Monday, July 11, 2016 at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Lloyd Johnston officiating. A visitation will take place on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville from 10 AM-11 AM. Memorials have been established to Coal Miners Black Lung and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
