Mary Gesualdo, 91 passed away Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Monroe County Hospital in Albia. Mary was born to John & Bessie(Privett) Goodman on December 12, 1919 in Centerville. She received her education from Centerville High School. Mary was united in marriage to Tony Gesualdo on November 12, 1938. He preceded her in death on November 26, 1979. Mary was a homemaker for the majority of her life. She worked with Tony in Gesualdo Construction Company. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, cooking, baking, gardening, quilting @ church, outdoor activities and time spent with her family. Mary is survived by five children; Teresa Huntley of Rock Island, Illinois, Donald Gesualdo(Sue) of Centennial, Colorado, Tom Gesualdo of Centerville, Tim Gesualdo of Aurora, Colorado, Kathy Gesualdo of Des Moines, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, four sisters; Betty Brice of Centerville, LeAnn Thomas of Centerville, Maxine Cox of Albia and Jeri Jackson of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her husband Tony, son, Robert Gesualdo and a grandson, David Huntley, sister, Wanda Morris, sister Ruth Gerard, brother, Jack Goodman and a brother Bill Goodman. Funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 9, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Dennis Schaab C.PP.S. Visitation will be all day Friday at Thomas Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7:30. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Mary's Catholic Church or the Golden Age Care Center.
